tourist attraction in Bosnia and Herzegovina.

Region: Northwest Bosnia — Bosna Valley

The Doboj Fortress, also known as Gradina, is a medieval fortification and the most recognizable symbol of the town of Doboj, situated on a steep elevation above the valley of the Bosna River. With its stone walls and towers, it dominates the town and attracts the gaze of everyone passing through this area. The fortress dates back to the Middle Ages, and over the centuries, it has been built and expanded by various rulers, leaving layers of medieval, Ottoman, and Austro-Hungarian architecture. Unlike many other old towns, the Doboj Fortress has a pronounced tourist function – today it is arranged and enriched with various facilities such as an ethno-café, a souvenir shop, a summer stage, and a space for holding knightly games and displays of medieval life. From the top of the fortress, there is a beautiful view of the panorama of Doboj and the surrounding mountains. An unmissable stop for all who wish to combine history, culture, and a pleasant walk above the town.
