Mother's Village is an institution for preschool education and social care in Bijakovići, in close proximity to Međugorje. It was founded by Fra Slavko Barbarić in 1993, motivated by the need to provide assistance to children who, due to war and other life circumstances, were left without parental care. The institution officially began operations on September 8, 1996. The complex is designed as a small village, with family houses, a kindergarten, and various facilities dedicated to upbringing, education, humanitarian work, and helping people in need. Over the years, hundreds of children, young people, and single mothers have passed through Mother's Village, with a special focus on caring for children without adequate parental care. Within the complex, there is also the Garden of St. Francis, a green space intended for rest, recreation, prayer, and working with children. Today, Mother's Village represents an important humanitarian and social project of Međugorje, recognized for the idea of creating a safe home, community, and care for those who need help the most.
