tourist attraction in Bosnia and Herzegovina.
Region: Northwest Bosnia — Una Valley
The Old Wooden Mosque in Bužim is located at the foot of the Bužim fortress and represents one of the most important historical landmarks of the area. Although the exact date of its construction is unknown, records show that it was renovated in 1835 and again in 1838. For a long time, it served as the central religious and social gathering place of the Bužim district. A major renovation took place in 1938, when its original form was partially altered. The mosque acquired its present appearance after restoration in 2003. Due to its cultural and historical significance, it has been declared a national monument of Bosnia and Herzegovina.
