Bihać - Djevojka sa Une

Travel video from Bosnia and Herzegovina.

The Girl from Una is one of the most recognizable landmarks and symbols of the city of Bihać. This elegant bronze sculpture, depicting a stylized female figure, has watched over the emerald river Una for more than three decades, greeting travelers and visitors coming to the city. The work is by the academic sculptor Vladimir Herljević and was ceremoniously unveiled in 1986. The idea for its creation came from Boško Marjanović, one of the greatest lovers of Una and the founder of the famous ecological society "Unski smaragdi". According to the author himself, the Girl does not represent any specific woman, but rather idealized beauty and, above all, the symbol of the beauty of the river Una. Located on the ramparts of the old city fortress, on the city island above the river, she gazes at the crystal-green rapids of Una beneath the city bridge. Today, the Girl from Una is an unmissable spot for all visitors to Bihać – a place for photographs, a break, and admiration of the harmony of art and nature that forms the heart of this city on the Una.
