Garavice
tourist attraction in Bosnia and Herzegovina.
Region: Northwest Bosnia — Bosanska Krajina
The Garavice Memorial Area is one of the most significant memorial sites in Bosnia and Herzegovina. Located just a few kilometers from the center of Bihać, it was erected in memory of the thousands of innocent victims who perished in this area during World War II. The memorial complex, designed in 1981 by the renowned architect Bogdan Bogdanović, consists of monumental stone sculptures harmoniously integrated into the natural setting of the forest and hills. Today, Garavice represents a place of silence, remembrance, and dignity, where visitors can pay tribute to the victims and learn about an important part of Bihać's history. The combination of memorial architecture and natural surroundings makes this site one of the most significant cultural and historical destinations in the region.
