Most na Dumanu

tourist attraction in Bosnia and Herzegovina.

Region: West Bosnia — Livno Region

The bridge on Duman, also known as Firdus's bridge, is one of the most beautiful and recognizable landmarks of the town of Livno. It is located about a hundred meters from the spring of the Bistrica River, in a place called Duman – an idyllic location at the foot of the karst hill Bašajkovac, where the river strongly springs from a cave, reminiscent of the famous Buna spring in Blagaj. This old stone bridge spans the Bistrica River, and due to its architectural features, it is believed to date back to the Ottoman period, most likely from the late 17th or early 18th century. According to local legend, it was built by tanners, whose workshops were once located nearby. Below the bridge, the water cascades down the cliff, and the view from it leaves every visitor speechless. The entire ambiance, with the freshness of the spring, the promenade along the Bistrica, and the surrounding greenery, makes this place perfect for a break and enjoying nature. The bridge on Duman has been declared a national monument of Bosnia and Herzegovina and is an essential point for every visitor to Livno.
