Čuhovići

tourist attraction in Bosnia and Herzegovina.

    Region: Central Bosnia — Herzegovina

Čuhovići is a small and picturesque mountain village located on the southern slopes of Bjelašnica, in the municipality of Konjic, near the famous Lukomir. Along with Lukomir, it is among the highest and most isolated settlements in Bosnia and Herzegovina, a place where time seems to stand still, and nature remains completely untouched. Like the neighboring villages of Bjelašnica, Čuhovići was formed by shepherds who permanently settled on the rich pastures of Bjelašnica from the Herzegovina highlands over time. The village enchants with its tranquility, stone houses, and authentic ambiance of the Bosnian high mountains, far from the hustle and bustle of the city and tourist routes. Beautiful hiking trails lead through Čuhovići and the surrounding area, among which the tour over the peak of Lovnica to Lukomir is particularly popular, offering magnificent views of the deep canyon of the Rakitnica River. Due to harsh winters and high snow drifts, the village is almost deserted in winter, and life returns with spring and the warmer months. For all lovers of untouched nature, hiking, and an authentic experience of Bosnia, Čuhovići is a true hidden treasure of Bjelašnica.
